Sensory Overload: CineMassive MasterPlex 21T
February 18th, 2007
Looking to score some hefty multi-screen real estate? The MasterPlex 21T may fit the bill. CineMassive’s flagship setup is an all Samsung affair, with a 21.3-inch LCD in the center and five 17-inch wingmen on the sides.
The specs on each LCD are standard: 1600 x 1200 resolution for the center, 1280 x 1024 resolution for the wings, 300 cd/m2 brightness, contrast ratio of 900:1, an 8ms response time, and an all-in-one design. Having a multi-display setup with identical specs is a definite plus.
But before you go out and max out your past-due credit line, make sure you have the proper graphics card(s) to drive a series of displays like this. If you’re not sure, the website has a primer on recommended video setups and ways to see if your current computer can push the displays. Laptop users, don’t fret—they’ve got an external cardbus video adapter just for you.
How much will the six-screen setup set you back? A steep $3,299—but with a name like Masterplex, you probably expected it to cost that much.
